1010 years - The anniversary event

On 5th of November, the degree programmes “BA in Business Administration and Psychology" and “MA in Business Informatics" celebrated their tenth anniversary with exciting impulse lectures.

Ten years ago, the Ferdinand Porsche FernFH expanded its range of training courses by two new degree programmes: “BA in Business Administration and Psychology” and  “MA in Business Informatics”. On the occasion of these anniversaries, the degree programmes invited to exciting impulse presentations around the topic "Digitization of Industry and Economy".

The presentations were held exclusively by graduates and lecturers of the two degree programmes:

  • Harald Rametsteiner, management consultant and lecturer at the FernFH, gave an interesting insight into digitization in marketing.
  • Anna Völkl, Lead Magento Developer and technical project manager for the implementation of e-commerce systems, gave a comprehensive overview of the continuing trend in e-commerce.
  • Herbert Dirnberger, graduate of the FernFH, entrepreneur and international lecturer, introduced the audience to the 10 steps to operating secure industrial IoT (Internet of Things) in SMEs in an entertaining way.
  • Sabine Schuh, Director of the Chamber of Lawyers and FernFH graduate and lecturer, led through digitization (projects) in (legal) consulting.

After the presentations, students, graduates, lecturers and employees had the opportunity to visit the interactive exhibition "1010 XReality" on the development of the degree programmes. At different locations in the FernFH building, there were mixed reality stations which guests could explore with their smartphones. The milestones of the two degree programmes were on display, as well as a virtual map showing the students' places of origin. Furthermore, the winners of this year's “Teaching Award for Excellent Distance Learning 2019” were presented. In a playful way, the module overviews of the degree programmes could be assembled and in addition, insights into topics of final theses were given. A very special highlight were the sparkling moments: In a virtual environment, the guests gained very personal insights into the teams of the degree programmes.

The anniversary evening of the two degree programmes ended in a pleasant atmosphere and with exciting discussions.
