Accessibility Statement
Ferdinand Porsche FERNFH is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with the Austrian Web Accessibility Act (Web-Zugänglichkeitsgesetz), transposing the Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and the Council.
This accessibility statement applies to the website www.fernfh.ac.at.
Compliance status
Due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below, this website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 Level AA conformance standard (WCAG 2.1).
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons:
a. Non-compliance with the Web Accessibility Act
Text and background colours are dictated by our CI-regulations and only partially comply with the colour contrast requirements of the WCAG. We plan to improve this issue in the course of the next web relaunch.
PDF and Microsoft Office documents available on this website are only partially accessible. We are continuously working on making them accessible and are training our staff to create accessible documents.
Some webpages contain links with duplicate link content which lead to different targets. We plan to revise these links in order to be fully complaint with this WCAG requirement in the future.
For some non-decorative images that have been published before 23 September 2019, the text alternative is missing. Since this content is currently not accessible to users of screen readers, the WCAG success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content) is not fulfilled. We are committed to add text alternatives to all non-decorative images so that this criterion can be fulfilled in the future.
b. Disproportionate burden
Our videos are predominantly hosted by and released on the video platforms YouTube and Vimeo. For some of these videos, it is not possible to provide the required audio descriptions. The WCAG success criterion 1.2.5 (audio description pre-recorded) is thus not fulfilled. In our view, resolving this issue would constitute an unreasonable burden in the meaning of the provisions on accessibility. We are planning to provide alternatives to audio descriptions for new media, and will provide alternatives for old, not updated content only upon request.
For some of our videos, the captions are missing. This content is therefore not accessible for deaf users, and the WCAG success criterion 1.2.2 (captions pre-recorded) is thus not fulfilled. New media will be released with captions included.
In some cases, no alternative for time-based media or audio descriptions of the pre-recorded video content is provided for synchronized media. The WCAG success criterion 1.2.3 (audio description or media alternative pre-recorded) is thus not fulfilled.
c. The content is outside the scope of the applicable legislation

Live, time-based media like video and audio. Online maps and map services if essential information on maps for navigation purposes is provided in an accessible, digital way.
Content from third parties who are outside the sphere of influence of Ferdinand Porsche FERNFH, is excepted from the Directive (EU) 2016/2102. For content from third parties of this kind, we cannot make any statements about its compatibility with the provisions on accessibility.
The preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was drawn up on 22 September 2020.
The evaluation of this website’s compliance with the WCAG 2.1 regulation is carried out by Ferdinand Porsche FERNFH and, in part, by external experts, as an internal test. In the scope of this review, we test the content of select webpages (the home page, one of the degree programmes’ pages, one of the executive education pages, a news page, an event page, the search function and search results, as well as one page containing different content types like text, images, video).

Enforcement procedure
If you are not satisfied with the answers you receive from the contact given above, you can file a complaint with the Austrian Agency for the Promotion of Research (Österreichische Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung – FFG). The FFG accepts complaints sent via its website.

Complaints are examined by the FFG to establish whether they refer to infringements against the provisions of the Web Accessibility Act, and particularly to deficits in adherence to the requirement for accessibility on the part of the Federal Government or one of its agencies.
If the complaint is justified, the FFG has to issue recommendations for actions to the Federal Government or the agency in question and propose measures which would contribute towards eliminating the existing deficiencies.
