From an anniversary to outstanding teaching to the ceremonial appointment of an honorary senator: The Ferdinand Porsche FERNFH celebrated three highlights at once with the “10hoch10” event. A look back at a successful celebration.

On October 10, 2025, the Ferdinand Porsche FERNFH celebrated the successful “FERNFH Alumni 10hoch10” event on its campus in Wiener Neustadt. The event marked both the tenth anniversary of the FERNFH alumni network and ten years of the “Werner Jungwirth Teaching Award for Excellence in Distance Learning.”  That evening, together with many graduates and mentors, attendees looked back on 10 years of alumni work and raised a toast to the network’s efforts to bring people together.

The winners of the Teaching Award were also honored during the festive ceremony. FERNFH congratulates the award-winning instructors, whose outstanding blended-learning course designs were recognized as examples of best practice. The Teaching Award underscores FERNFH’s commitment to continuously promoting outstanding teaching quality and equal opportunity in higher education.

A special highlight of the ceremony was the conferral of the title of Honorary Senator of the University of Applied Sciences on Prof. Wilfried Schneider. The award, presented personally by FERNFH founder Werner Jungwirth, honors his more than fifteen years of dedicated and outstanding service at FERNFH, during which he played a key role in shaping the pedagogical and curricular standards of the innovative study model. His expertise was invaluable to the development of the university and its degree programs.

The anniversary celebration provided the numerous guests—including alumni, students, faculty, and staff—with an excellent platform for exchange and networking. In a festive atmosphere, everyone raised a toast to the successes of the past decade and looked forward to a promising future for flexible learning. The “FERNFH Alumni 10hoch10” celebration impressively demonstrated the strong sense of community and the high quality of the Ferdinand Porsche FERNFH.
