At the Ferdinand Porsche Distance Learning University, quality shapes our daily work. In teaching and research, we operate with clear standards, systematic evaluation, and a quality management system system based on international guidelines. In this way, we create a stable framework for academic excellence and practice-oriented professional development.
Components of Our Quality Management System
Principles of Good Teaching
Effective teaching requires clear principles. We have set these out in the section of our bylaws titled “Quality Assurance in Academic Programs and Teaching.” We place a high value on: pedagogical diversity, practical relevance, and a student-centered approach.
Quality Management System
Our system is based on the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG). It forms the backbone for ongoing development in teaching, research, and administration.
Quality of Academic Programs
The integration of coursework with the results of applied research, the involvement of both scholars and practitioners as faculty members, and the direct feedback from our working professionals regarding current needs in their respective professional fields ensure a practice-oriented, academically sound curriculum.
Faculty with expertise
Our instructors have specialized qualifications in their areas of expertise, a university or university of applied sciences degree, and many years of practical experience. In addition, they undergo ongoing training in the field of distance learning.
Accreditation & Certification
FERNFH has held indefinite accreditation since 2012 in accordance with Section 23 of the Higher Education Quality Assurance Act (HS-QSG).
Our academic programs and overall organization are subject to a continuous quality improvement process. We survey students, faculty, and alumni, and we also regularly evaluate the curricula of the individual degree programs. The results are incorporated into the quality management system.
In 2022, the quality management system at Ferdinand Porsche FERNFH was assessed and reviewed by the quality assurance agency ZEvA (Central Evaluation and Accreditation Agency, Hanover). The positive evaluation resulted in the certification of the quality management system in July 2022 in accordance with Section 22 of the Higher Education Quality Assurance Act (HS-QSG), which is valid until September 2029.
Program Accreditation
All new degree programs undergo external program accreditation by AQ Austria—the Austrian Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation. The results reports document the quality and ongoing development of the programs.
