TheEuropean Roundtable for Sustainable Consumption and Production(ERSCP) is one of the most important international conferences in the field of sustainability. This year, it was held for the first time in the Czech Republic at theCzech University of Life Sciences inPrague, and the Ferdinand Porsche FERNFH was represented with two presentations.

Research in the International Discourse

Dr.Birgit Teufer, director of the Institute for Economics and Psychology, presented her participatory case study,“Between Sustainability and Structural Challenges: A Participatory Action Research Case Study on the Impact of Food Cooperatives.”She highlighted the opportunities and limitations of civil society food initiatives for sustainable consumption.

Particularly encouraging:Katharina Rieck, MA, an alumna of the Master’s program in Business Administration & Business Psychology, also presented her joint research project with FERNFH. In her presentation titled“Eco-taxes and sustainability information on the menu: The combined influence of fiscal and informational cues on meat selection,”she examined how eco-taxes and sustainability information on menus influence consumer behavior. This once again highlighted how closely teaching and research are linked at FERNFH—from the master’s thesis to a presentation at an international conference.

Inspiration for the Future

The ERSCP 2025 was held under the theme“Multi-stakeholder cooperation on sustainability”and brought together experts from academia, business, politics, and civil society. From September 15 to 18, Prague served as the setting for pooling international perspectives and providing impetus for a sustainable future. For FERNFH, the conference offered a valuable platform to discuss research findings, expand international networks, and gain inspiration for future projects.

A strong signal regarding our university's visibility in the European academic discourse.
