Family-Friendly Workplace: FERNFH Takes 2nd Place in the Lower Austria State Competition

May 3, 2024

The Ferdinand Porsche Distance Learning University was awarded second place in the Lower Austria state competition “Family-Friendly Workplace 2024.”

For more than 15 years, balancing family, work, studies, and leisure time has played a central role at the Ferdinand Porsche FERNFH, a fact reflected both in the way its academic programs are organized and in the flexibility offered to FERNFH employees.

We were recognized for our university’s strong commitment to family-friendliness as part of the state-wide competition “Most Family-Friendly Workplace in Lower Austria 2024.” In the medium-sized businesses category (21 to 100 employees), our university took second place.

It was with great joy and pride that Mag.a Elfriede Riesinger, Managing Director of Ferdinand Porsche FERNFH, and Martina Mokricky from the Human Resources Management & Development Department accepted the award from Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister, Provincial Councilor for Family Affairs, and the President of the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce, Wolfgang Ecker, at a festive awards ceremony in St. Pölten.

“As managing director and a father, it is a personal priority for me to implement concrete measures to support work-life balance—or the balance between studies and family life—at Ferdinand Porsche FERNFH,” said Mag. (FH) Axel Jungwirth, MEng, AKKM, managing director of Ferdinand Porsche FERNFH and FERNFH Management & Service. In his view, participating in Lower Austria’s “Family-Friendly Workplace” competition underscores FERNFH’s commitment to family-friendliness and fosters exchange with companies that share this focus. “This sense of community drives us to continue being a pioneer in providing needs-based solutions and fostering a family-oriented work culture,” Jungwirth says proudly.
