Shaping the digital transformation

Whether in production processes, supply chains, financial markets or human resource management, hardly any area of business today remains untouched by digitalisation. Companies face the challenge of keeping pace with rapid technological change while acting wisely from an economic point of view. They need people who understand not only how technologies work, but also how to use them in a way that makes business sense.

Do you want to digitalise processes in a technologically sustainable way?

That is exactly what you learn in the BA in Business Informatics at FERNFH: you acquire digital and business know-how and combine both perspectives so you can act as a bridge-builder between IT, management and business development. Whether in large corporations, start-ups or public organisations, you identify potential for optimisation, steer transformation processes and create innovations. Your studies give you the freedom to specialise according to your interests, whether in information and digitalisation management, software development or many other areas – shape your own individual career path.

Studying at FERNFH
Flexible, smart & affordable.

FERNFH Distance-Learning University of Applied Sciences is Austria's leading higher education institution for distance learning. Your FERNFH degree combines digital, self-directed self-study weeks with a small number of easy-to-plan on-campus sessions.

Flexible &
affordable study.

Study largely whenever and wherever you like. Thanks to federal funding, our affordable range of programmes is designed to fit your life as closely as possible – not the other way round.

Self-directed
but never alone.

On-campus sessions you can plan ahead and self-directed self-study weeks let you learn in your own way. Via the Online Campus, you stay connected with fellow students and lecturers at all times.

Education that fits your career path.

That’s why our degree programmes offer you individual focus areas or electives. Or you can extend your studies with Micro-Credentials from outside your subject.

How a term works

The distance learning programme is designed so that students work through most of the content in the Online Campus whenever and wherever suits them. Digital learning materials, exercises and opportunities for exchange are available there, so the learning process can be shaped individually and flexibly.

During the self-study weeks students set their own learning pace, access the learning platform at any time and use digital communication channels to clarify questions or connect with others in group work.

In addition, there are three on-campus sessions each term. These offer the opportunity for in-depth study, discussion, exams and practical application of the course content. This ideally combines direct contact with lecturers and fellow students with the advantages of digital flexibility.
